Atlanta Hawks fans will be living in style when renovations on Philips Arena are complete.
On Wednesday, Darren Rovell of ESPN reported the renovations will include the NBA‘s first courtside bar, a Killer Mike barber shop with a view of the court and two suites with Top Golf simulators included:
This comes after the Associated Press (h/t NBA.com) reported last week the $192.5 million renovation began after the Atlanta City Council approved the funding. According to the AP, the Hawks contributed $50 million, $32.5 million came from the city’s sale of Turner Field to Georgia State University and approximately $110 million will come from car rental tax at the Atlanta Airport.
The work is set to be done before the 2018-19 campaign, and the Hawks’ lease was extended through the 2047-48 season as part of the arrangement.
They will look for continued success in their newly renovated home after reaching the playoffs in each of the last 10 seasons.
