Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye are reportedly contemplating retirement in advance of the 2017-18 season.
According to a report from Fox Sports Ohio’s Sam Amico on Thursday, both Frye and Jefferson “may be preparing to retire this offseason.”
Should they call it quits, the Cavaliers would be able to open up small slivers of cap space as they prepare to enter a crucial summer signing period.
Jefferson is due $2.5 million guaranteed next season, while Frye is owed $7.4 million.
